Welcome to Mrs. Greeley's/Zimbaldi's ESL Class Page

Welcome

Hello! My name is Katie Greeley and I am the English language teacher at Marlboro Memorial Middle School. This is my third year teaching in Marlboro Township and I am so happy to be back in the classroom with all my students. I have been an ESL teacher for 5 years in elementary school, community college, and international settings to students of ALL ages. Teaching ESL is incredibly rewarding and it brings me so much joy watching my students progress and gain confidence throughout the school year.

I have a B.A. in Elementary Education from Susquehanna University. I also hold certifications in ESL K-12, Elementary Education, Special Education, TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Currently, I am pursuing a Master's in Language Education and a certification in Adult ESL & Literacy through Rutger's University.

I have a huge passion for traveling and volunteering abroad which is how I found my love for teaching ESL. In addition, I spend a lot of time with my family, friends, and pets. I have a rescue mixed-breed puppy named Molly and a Siberian Forest kitten named Charles. Surprisingly, Molly and Charles are the best of friends. If the weather is nice, you'll find me outdoors doing activities like camping, hiking, kayaking, or relaxing at my grandparent's farm.

I was recently married on September 2nd, 2023, which means my new last name will be changing to "Zimbalid", but for the 2023-2024 school year, I plan on keeping Greeley.  My husband and I are expecting our first child and my due date is February 16th, 2024.

In my ESL classes, we will focus on the four major areas of the English language: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. My goal is to help build confidence in my students, increase social and emotional growth, and facilitate progression in all academic areas while expanding English proficiency. My classroom, just like the rest of the Marlboro school community, will be a safe space for students to embrace their cultures and differences and to appreciate and learn from those of others.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I am looking forward to a fantastic 2023-2024 school year! My email is: [email protected]

Sincerely,
Mrs. Katie Greeley (Zimbaldi)
