It's Research Paper Time!
As our time together draws to a close, it is time to put together the elements of writing we have focused on over the course of the year. The final paper is the culmination of the hours of work students have spent mastering the elements of writing, including but not limited to development of a student driven thesis statement, use of evidence to support analysis of the topic, proper use of MLA9 formatting requirements to include in-text citations for parenthetical references and paraphrased information, a properly formatted MLA9 works cited, and use of the research process through annotated bibliography completion.
Students should pick a debatable topic that is school appropriate to work on this long term project which will culminate in a MLA9 formatted argumentative essay (test grade in writing) and a research presentation (quiz grade in literacy).
