Welcome to 6th Grade Social Studies!!

 

This year we will be studying the geography and history of Western Civilizations. The school year will begin with a review of three strands of Social Studies:  citizenship, geography, and social studies skills. There will be several units covered throughout the school year that follow a thematic approach to explain the history of the world and how it affects society today.

 

In 6th grade Social Studies, we will be discovering world history from the beginning of human history all the way up to Ancient Greece. Along the way, we will study other interesting topics such as Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Ancient China, and Ancient India.

Throughout the school year, the students will be engaged in several engaging activities and in-depth research to uncover key content and critical social studies skills to help build life long learners.
