About Mr. K:
This is my first year as a classroom teacher, but I have coached high school sports for 12 years before I obtained my Masters in Teaching from Rowan University in May 2026. Before finishing my graduate program, I worked as an editor in the field of journalism for 10 years. I also graduated in 2016 with a dual bachelors in History and Journalism & Media Studies from Rutgers University - New Brunswick.
In addition to teaching 8th grade social studies, I will be coaching Marlboro Memorial Middle School's baseball team in the spring. More info to come with that as the spring approaches.
In my spare time, I enjoy walking my two dogs, Chicken and Roux at the beach or on hikes. I have also traveled to 45 out of 50 states, with plans to go to Alaska and Hawaii in the near future...Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska can wait. Traveling has allowed me to understand different cultures throughout our country, while appreciating what makes each area and landmark unique.
My goal for the school year and my classroom is to make the space a welcoming environment for all learners. With an environment based on a foundation of respect, I believe the function of collaboration, conversation and inquiry can thrive for our 8th grade students. I will not allow disrespect or harassment, intimidation and bullying.
