Art Scenery Students may volunteer to develop stage sets for the school play. Construction, painting, and scenery arrangement are some of the activities involved. Students may also assist backstage during the performances. Advisor: Ms. Steriti

Audio/Visual Club Students learn 21st Century techniques for filming, video production, and broadcast for live school announcements, filming school events, and broadcasting web videos. Club members will learn proper terminology, equipment management and maintenance, and jobs associated with live production. Advisor: Mr. Bucci

Builders Club The mission of the Builder’s Club is to help our student members become school leaders through community service projects. The members of the club choose projects and then make plans on how to carry out the projects in our middle school. Members use their creativity to make their chosen projects successful. Some of the projects we have chosen are Pennies for Patients, Toys for Tots, and Book Donations to Bridge of Books. Advisor: Ms. Sicknick

Chess Club The Chess Club provides opportunities for students to learn and play chess in a friendly atmosphere with other students. Students of all levels of play are invited to join. Students learn and develop skills from other students. Advisor: Mr. Bucci

Computer Club The Computer Club enables students of all grade levels to explore the computer in an open setting. Students use a variety of software applications to engage in diverse activities such as computer programming, desktop publishing, animation, and gaming. Advisor: Mrs. Pagliaro

Craft Club Craft Club members will have the opportunity to use their imaginations to create fun projects and crafts by re-purposing recycled items. Projects will range from mixed media art to learning how to knit. In addition, students who are interested in artistic photography will learn strategies for improving their techniques, editing their photos, and create unique crafts to display their photos. Advisor: Mrs. Villani

Debate Club

This club is open to students of all grade levels who are enthusiastic and looking to improve their speaking and language arts skills while having fun. Debaters will work as a team to make and support assertions, conduct research to gather effective evidence, analyze and critique arguments, and conduct speeches. If you are outspoken, like to argue, or are looking to increase argumentative skills, this is the club for you! Advisors: Mrs. Talley & Mrs. Somodi

Digital Magazine

Students can refine their skills as creative writers, poets, artists and photographers. Students will work on creating a digital magazine for school-wide distribution. Advisor: Ms. DiDonato

School Musical Auditions for the spring musical occur during the winter, with the performance taking place in the spring. All students are encouraged to try out as actors, singers, dancers, or musicians. Rehearsals are held after school. Advisors: Mrs. Maskery, Dr. Baskind & Mrs. Kuldanek

Difference Makers This leadership club has no participation fee and is open to all students who want to make a positive difference in our school. Our mission is to create an atmosphere for acceptance and to work together to promote respect and kindness within our school community. Meetings take place during student lunch at each grade level. Information regarding sign-ups and meeting dates will be announced on the club bulletin board and in the Lion's Roar. Advisor: Dr. Baskind

Intramural Volleyball
This activity is open to all students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. This is not an interscholastic program. Groups will not compete against other schools. Teams will be set up for intramural play only. Students practice three times per week. A sports physical is required prior to participation. Advisors: Mr. Bearse & Mr. Hagensen

Healthy Futures Club This club is open to all students who are interested in learning about basic first aid, life-threatening emergencies, and how to help someone in the event of an emergency. This club will be a fun, hands-on experience and will include a community service project to be run by the students to help our local community. Advisors: Mrs. Abdelkader & Mrs. Burnett

Intramural Lacrosse
This activity is open to all students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Lacrosse is a spring sport at Marlboro Memorial Middle School. This is not an interscholastic program. Groups will not compete against other schools. Teams will be set up for intramural play only. Students practice three times per week. A sports physical is required prior to participation. Advisor: Mr. Styler

R.A.D. (Responsible Actions & Decisions)

In this after-school club, Responsible Actions & Decisions, students participate in lively, fun activities that explore effective decision-making and strategies of appropriate choice-making. Students explore challenging scenarios, establish guidelines and discuss safe plans of execution for various real-life situations that students may find themselves facing. Members will have the opportunity to influence the direction of topics and areas of focus for the year. They are also trained to provide peer-to-peer education within the school community, their primary goal being an interactive presentation for elementary school students. R.A.D. is open to students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. Advisor: Dr. Baskind

Running Club

This Spring Club is an active, healthy club open to all students who like to run, jog, walk, and improve their physical fitness. Students will learn about the sport of running, including proper technique and get into great shape! Students will also have the opportunity to train for a 5k! Schedule to be announced. Sports physicals are required. Advisor: Mr. Fine

Math Club In the Math Club, 7th and 8th-grade high-achieving math students compete in local, state and national competitions to demonstrate excellence in problem-solving, Algebra and Geometry. Practice and training sessions are held twice a month after school. Students are urged to listen to in-school announcements for more information. Advisor: Ms. Nugent

Music 7th and 8th grade students audition for and are selected to participate in jazz band, select orchestra, and select choir. Advisors: Mr. Goley, Mrs. Dokus & Mrs. Poole

Gaming Club Gaming Club looks to bring gamers of all kinds together to play casual multiplayer games. In addition to board games, we have multiple consoles ranging from retro to modern, arcade cabinets, and a digital board game table. Gamers of all types and skill levels are welcome to come and share their love of multiplayer games. Advisor: Mr. Osborne

Newspaper Students report on school events, sports, and news. Students will work on creating a digital newspaper for school-wide distribution. Advisor: Ms. DiDonato

Ping Pong Club This activity is open to all students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Ping Pong is not an interscholastic program. Participants will not compete against other schools but will compete in intramural style play. Ping Pong Club occurs at various times throughout the school year. Advisor: Mr. Harpootlian

Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Club The focus of the STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) Club will be brainstorming and researching to create proposals for innovative technologies. When possible, hands-on activities will be integrated. Advisor: Ms. Hardy

Podcast Club The Podcast club will be the place for students interested in creating podcast episodes for The Monarch Experience Podcast, assisting with creating original content for both social media accounts (TikTok and Snapchat) that engage our audience. Students interested in this club should be outgoing, creative thinkers that know how to engage an audience through social media. Advisor: Mr. Ancona

Theater Club This club will expose students who have an interest in theatre to the basics of acting and to all facets of theater. They will learn and practice key skills to prepare for auditions and performances. Besides learning these practical skills (such as volume, expression, self-expressive skills, characterization and body language), students will also improve their self-expression and self-confidence through improvisation and drama activities. Advisor: Mrs. Maskery

Art Club The Art Club provides an opportunity for students to collaborate on special art projects after school in a relaxed and friendly setting. Projects to be determined but will include painting and/or mural projects that help to beautify our school and promote camaraderie and positivity. Advisor: Ms. Zoppi

Yearbook All students are welcome to work on the yearbook. The only requirements are enthusiasm, ambition, and the desire to work. Alphabetizing, writing captions, planning layouts, and taking pictures are the activities involved. Students who like to draw and are artistic are especially encouraged to participate. Advisors: Mrs. Alfano & Mrs. Galvin

Poetry Club Calling all poets and aspiring poets! This club is for anyone who enjoys working in a creative setting, making art with words, and learning about new styles of poetry. Each week we will learn new poetic techniques, research different poets from the past and present, & share our poems in different ways. Some of the styles of poetry we will explore include concrete, haiku, free verse, narrative, sonnet, ode, limerick, and more! Advisor: Mrs. Bott
