Since I (Mr. Morris) accidentally had yesterday's assignment marked due yesterday instead of today, I am going to give you an extra day to work on the study guide (Due at the end of the day Friday... definitely Friday). You will be able to work on this today, tomorrow and Friday so hopefully the extra day will give you some relief :)

Answer the questions on the doc to help review for the China Test on 5/12. We can review them during our video conference and we will review on Monday 5/11.

Today we will take a look at the 4th Empire of Ancient China that we will study.

Log into TCI and go to Lesson 23.

Complete the questions on the doc. Look for the main idea of each question and try to correlate it with the subtopics in the text. All of the answers will be found using the text.

You just learned about the three different philosophies to reunite and bring peace to China.
Now we will take a look at the Qin Dynasty and some of their lasting impacts.

Be sure to complete all parts for full credit. Read carefully through each slide as there are more thorough directions on each slide with important content information.

Last week you learned about the Warring States and the lack of unity in China.

For the next 3 days, you are going to look at three different philosophies that were brought about to try to either reunite China or have peace.
Day 1- Go through slides 1-6; complete summary on slide 2 and read through the information on the first philosophy
Day 2- Go through slides 7-10; watch the video and fill in facts on slide 7; read through the second philosophy and complete the activity on slide 10
Day 3- Go through slides 11-16 read through the philosophy and complete the scenarios on slide 14-15

Feel free to go at your own pace.

In the attached slideshow, you will review the Shang Dynasty from Tuesday and Wednesday.
Then, you will learn about the Zhou Dynasty and the Warring States. Be sure to complete the slideshow to record your notes.

Yesterday we learned about the Shang Dynasty's culture and looked at their writing as well. Today we will look at the lasting impacts of the Shang Dynasty and learn about those oracle bones and what they were for! Use the following slides to learn about and fill in to keep track of your notes. Follow the directions on the slides to complete today's assignment.

Today, we are going to start learning about the dynasties of ancient China. You know how in Egypt we talked about all the pharaohs and how their families ruled for a long time? China did the same thing.

We will start with the Shang Dynasty.

So we have been on the computer a lot. We want to get you time to step away for a little and do something entertaining and show off your creative talents.
For the rest of the week, you are going to build or create 3 different projects and you get a choice of these 4 ideas:
1- an ancient Chinese Scroll with beautiful scenery
2- a replica Great Wall of China that looks protective
3- a model Catapult following ancient Chinese tactics
4- a decorated Chinese lantern
Now, there are directions and some ideas to help you construct these but the creativity portion is totally up to you. These can be as big (especially the wall!!!!) or average sized objects as you have. DO NOT GO BUY MATERIALS FOR THIS. Use things you already have around the house.
You must fill out the slides each day so that we know you are staying with the pace of the due date on Monday. Check out the slideshow for more information.
