June 2-4: Introduction to Greek Mythology in Google Classroom

June 2-4: Introduction to Greek Mythology

We have learned about various religions throughout the year... from Ancient Mesopotamian, Egyptian, and Indian polytheistic religions to the monotheistic religion of Judaism in ancient Israel.
One of the most fascinating religions to discuss, in my opinion, is ancient Greek mythology. Stories of their gods and goddesses not only explained about the world around them but these stories were passed on and borrowed by future generations and civilizations. Next year you will learn about the Romans and their gods and goddesses.... which are the SAME as Greeks, but with new names.

So this week, we will take a look at what Greek Mythology is and how some of these myths might impact ancient Greek culture.

Here is a guide on what to do each day. Feel free to go at your own pace so if you finish early, you can continue on the next day's portion:

Tuesday- Read and watch the clips on the slideshow and complete the directions on slides 9, 10, and 11.

Wednesday- Make sure you finished the work from yesterday. Begin working on the "Who's Who of Greek Mythology". Use the website that is hyperlinked in the doc to guide your research. Complete 5 of the 10 gods and goddesses. If you have to use a different website to help, feel free but please tell us (in the doc) where you got that information using a hyperlink of your own.

Thursday- Complete the rest of the "Who's Who of Greek Mythology" doc.
