Hi everyone, 
While I'm out for the next few days, read over this Explanatory Journal. Answer the questions/on slides 2 & 3 then Pick 2 essay prompts from the options given. ( You can come up with your own topic for one of the essays.)  
Write 2 essays 4-6 paragraphs each. Follow the explanatory essay format, though you don't need to cite evidence for these prompts. This will count as a supplemental grade.  If you finish early, read your IDR book.

Thursday-Work on the 10-12 lines of PERFECT dialogue (this is the GRADED section for a test grade!)
Friday-Work on the conclusion/ revise and editing 
Monday-Turn in your completed work!

Dialogue needs to be in another color!
Make sure to indent every time a new person speaks.
Make sure to get rid of or replace any "said, says, or say" in your writing or POINTS off.
-2 for every capitalization, comma, punctuation, or other dialogue error.

You will need to know synonyms, antonyms, definitions, and how to use the word in a sentence.

You should write about 3-4 paragraphs, using dialogue!

Also, add in onomatopoeia (scratch, scratch), short sentences for emphasis, describe the setting.

The sentences you are writing need to be creative, original (not copied and pasted from another source). Make sure each sentence includes the vocabulary term listed. These sentences should have context clues that are highlighted in yellow.
