6D Social Studies
Welcome to Mrs. Bingert's 6th Grade Social Studies Class!
Formerly Ms. Sandelman, I attended MMMS way back in the day. I received my B.A. in History/Education and Masters in the Art of Teaching from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I have been teaching Social Studies in Marlboro for the past four years, having taught in both middle schools and in all three grade levels.
In 6th grade Social Studies, we will study Ancient History. We begin with learning how to think like historians and archaeologists. With that mindset, we will explore the worlds of the earliest humans. We will also travel to the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, India and Greece.
Please note that all class materials (assignments, study guides, projects, etc.) will be posted to Google Classroom. This teacher page contains a class calendar, how to access your textbook, extra help information, the Social Studies grading policy, and important notices for parents/guardians.
Parents & Guardians:
- The parent portal is the best place to receive updates on your child's academic progress, completed assignments, and grades on assessments. Please check the portal regularly to ensure that you are up to date on your child's progress.
- Results for assessments taken via Google Forms will be located in your child's Marlboro Gmail inbox after all students have taken the assessment. In their inbox, find an email with the subject called "Score released - *name of assessment*" Then, click the "view" button in the email to see the results. Please allow up to one week after an assessment to receive this email.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to e-mail me at email@example.com
